Duties and Responsibilities:
The job coach position will provide hands on training to adults with a variety of disabilities. The job coach works alongside individuals to teach and train specific work skills. The environment that is used to teach these work skills may include an inclusive community work site, other community job sites and Skookum facilities. It's important that the job coach be a people person as you will be serving as a role model in teaching individuals with disabilities communication skills, social interaction and work ethics. The job coach acts as a liaison with community businesses and community leaders. Documentation may include creating task analysis, job site analysis and daily timekeeping. Some development of potential jobs may be required in helping an individual with their vocational goals.
Physical Demands:
This position requires the ability to stand, sit, crouch, and lift at various times and for different lengths of time. At times helping individuals with a wheelchair is required.
Requirements:
HS Diploma/GED or equivalent of 2 years relevant experience in similar work.
Supervisory and/or management skills, experience and/or training preferred
Valid Washington State Driver’s License
Reliable transportation and proof of insurance
Ability to be bonded by Skookum’s insurance carrier
Ability to pass criminal background check
Able to work with people with disabilities and design effective programs pertaining to individuals.
Able to work independently, problem-solve and make decisions
Proficient with computer, excellent verbal and written skills
Able to use of a personal vehicle
